In most places where an image can be inserted you will see the Moodle formatting bar.

Minimum steps

1.Click on the Insert image icon

2.Click on "browse repositories" button. 

3.Use File picker to select an existing image or upload a new one by clicking 'choose file'. Once you have chosen an image, click 'upload this file'.


4. The file will now appear in the "image properties" preview window

5. Next put in a short image description (alternative text) which will appear when the student moves their mouse over the image.

6. Click 'save image'. You have done the minimum and you will then return text editor tool.


Resizing an image

If you want to resize the image, click on the image to select it in the content window. Click again on the Insert/edit image tool.

In the window that opens, you'll see an option to adjust the size of the image. By keeping 'auto size' box ticked, the image will stay in proportion relative to the height or width adjustment made. Make adjustments to the numbers of pixels in the boxes. Click save image once you are happy with the size.
