Checking your originality report
In some assignments (particularly the ones in TurnitinUK test your text) you are permitted to see your Similarity Score and Originality Report.
NOTE: Your module convenor or lecturer may have set up the assignment so that it does NOT allow you to see your similarity score or originality report.
Depending on the settings of the dropbox, once your document has been uploaded or the due date has been reached the system will produce an originality report. Note that the report can take up to 24 hours to produce during peak times.
NOTE: Most dropboxes allow resubmission. If you submit your assignment to a dropbox multiple times, your final submission at the due date will be retained by Turnitin for future comparisons, none of your previous submissions will be.
When the report is ready a percentage will be displayed under the Similarity column within the Turnitin dashboard. To view the originality report click onto the percentage score.
Your document will be displayed on the left hand side of the screen and the corresponding information sources that contain matching text will be displayed on the right.

Please see Using your TurnItIn Originality Report for more detail on using the originality report as a formative writing tool.
No originality report?
If the module convenor has set the settings not to allow students to view the originality report, there will be no percentage shown to students in the Similarity column.
