How to embed H5P into an existing Moodle resource (e.g. Page or Book)

1. Enable the 'Edit mode' toggle switch in your module.

2. Select 'Edit' button

for the Moodle resource (e.g. ‘Page’ or ‘Book’)

then select Edit Settings from the menu that appears.

If this does not already exist, click on the 'Add an activity or resource' button and select the resource you would like to add.

3. Once you are in the resource, in the Atto text editor, click on the 'H5P' button in the text editor to embed an H5P activity from your content bank.

4. This will open up a pop-up. Select 'Browse repositories'.

5. A new pop-up will then open. Make sure 'Content bank' is selected on the left side. Click on the H5P activity to select it.

6. A new pop-up will then appear. At the top, you are asked whether you want to 'Make a copy of the file' or 'Link to the file'. You will want to select the 'Link to the file' option otherwise you will have two copies of the same H5P activity in the content bank.
7. There are then options to change the name of the file under 'Save as', change the default 'Author' as well as 'Choose licence'.
8. When happy with these settings, click on the 'Select this file' button to add your activity.

9. If desired continue adding additional content to your Moodle resource.
10. When you have finished

, click 'Save and return to module' or 'Save and display'.

11. When you have finished editing, don't forget to disable the 'Edit mode' toggle switch.
Note: H5P content embedded using the text editor does not appear in the module’s gradebook.
Please note: If you are creating a new 'Page', 'Book' or other resource where you can embed H5P. You will need to follow the steps above (apart from the first two bullet points).
