How to enable the TinyMCE text editor on Moodle

With the introduction of Moodle 4.3 in July 2024, comes the TinyMCE text editor. To begin with, this new text editor will not be enabled as default across Moodle. If you wish to use this text editor, you can select it as your personal default text editor in Moodle and it will then appear for you in all areas of Moodle. Follow the steps below to enable the TinyMCE text editor:

1. Login to Moodle at UoN

2. Hover over your initials in the top right of the navigation menu

3. Select 'Preferences'

4. Select 'Editor Preferences'

5. Ensure that 'TinyMCE editor' is selected from the dropdown menu

6. Select 'Save Changes' to save your choice
