I'd like to cut down the number of emails Moodle sends me

You can choose to receive emails as soon as they are sent out by Moodle (e.g., through the News / announcements forum of a module you have a role in)

OR you can change to digest mode - only one email a day

To change to digest mode:

Go to My home
Under Settings > My profile settings click Edit profile
Next to Email digest type select "Complete (daily email with full posts)" or "Subjects (daily email with subjects only)"
Click Update profile (at the bottom)
