'Card' view and 'Summary' view All of these views display the module overview image for each module. As an editing teacher you can choose an overview image for each of your modules. These are a great way to strengthen a module’s identity. You could also decide on a visual theme for all modules in a programme so that students can easily recognise related modules on their dashboard.

requirements

For best results use this process to work, you must upload an image that is matches the following dimensions: 740px x 300px 275px (width x height).

The reason for using images of this size is that the aspect ratio for Module Overview images is 2.7:1.

If you do not upload an image that matches the above requirements, it will still appear to have uploaded successfully, but will not show on your Moodle dashboard for the module. If you go back and delete the image, then upload one that matches the correct dimensions, you will find this shows correctly.

We also advise that you use a .PNG image where possible. This is the best file type for display on the web, and avoids confusion between the .JPG and .JPEG extensions for JPEG images.

Make sure that you have permission to use the image. More information about this may be found on our copyright page.

As well as Google image search and Flickr (filter for creative commons licensed images when you search), the following sites can also be used to download copyright-free (and creative commons licensed) images:
