How to: transfer questions for quizzes between Moodle modules

1. Go into the module with the questions you want to export.
2. Drop down the Cogwheel Edit   menu

3. Click on More...
4. Select 'Question bank' from the menu.

6. Using the drop down menu located to the left of the page, select 'Export'.

8. From "File format", select the 'Moodle XML format'
9. Image Added
10. Click on the 'Export questions to file' button 
11. Image AddedScroll down to  Question bank > Export
    Image Removed
    Select the Moodle XML format
    Image Removed
    Click on the Export questions to file button  Image Removed
12. Your export file should start to download. If it doesn’t, click as indicated on the download page to download the file.
13. Save the file to a folder on your hard drive (it may go into Downloads by default)

Importing the questions into another module

1. Go into the module in Moodle into which you want the questions added.
2. Drop down the Cogwheel Edit   menu 
   Image Removed
3. Click on More...
4. Scroll down to  Question bank > Import
5. Select 'Question bank' from the menu.
6. Image Added
7. Using the drop down menu located to the left of the page, select 'Export'.

9. Select the 'Moodle XML format':
10. Image AddedSelect the Moodle XML format.
11. EITHER:
    1. Drag and drop the Question bank file you just downloaded into the box

    1. OR
Click on 
13. 1. click on 'Choose a file
 to Click on 
14. 1. ' to load the file picker
15. 1. . 
    2. OR click on
16. 1. Upload a file and then Browse for the file you downloaded earlier and click on 'Upload this file

18. Click the Import button 'Import button
19. Then click click 'Continue' to complete the process of importing the questions
