Chances are this is a simple case of the module being hidden from student view. To check if this the case, go into the module in question and do the following:
1. Go to Settings > Edit Settings
2. Scroll down the screen until you reach the box marked 'Availability'. This setting determines whether the module appears in the list of modules for students.
To make a module invisible to students (hide it from students)
When the setting Module visibility (see above) is set to Hide, the module is hidden from students, and 3. When this is set to 'This module is not available to students' the module is invisible to all apart from staff with appropriate access rights and thus users are not allowed to enter the module.
4. Change this to 'This module is available to students' and scroll to the bottom.
(such as Teachers and Editing Teachers).
When you click on the 'Edit mode' toggle switch, in the 'Year End and Archive' block (only visible to editing teachers), the message appears: "Module hidden from students!"
