Dashboard - accessing modules
When you log in to Moodle the first page is your 'Dashboard'. You You can return to this page from wherever you are in Moodle by
- clicking Clicking on the 'University logo' in the top left-hand corner, or
- clicking on 'Hamburger menu', top right, and the Dashboard link is the first in the list

When you click on the 'My Modules' tab from the menu bar along the top of the screen, you You can filter your display of modules as follows:

1. You can filter your modules to show just those 'In progress' (current year and ongoing modules), 'Future' (next academic year and later) and 'Past' – note that 'All' are visible by default. You can also filter by 'Starred' or or 'Removed from view'. | 2. You can sort modules alphabetically by by 'Course name', or by date 'Last accessed'. There’s also a Recently Accessed Modules block which shows those you have most recently accessed. | 3. You can view the modules as 'Cards' – the default, or as a 'List', or including the 'Summary'. Experiment to see which is right for you. | 4. You can show up to 48 modules on each screen. Click the arrows to move between screens. 5. You will also see a progress bar in any modules in which progress is tracked (most are not tracked) 6. Clicking on the three dots at the end of a module’s name allows you to 'Star' (or favourite) a module, or to 'Remove it from my view'. You can then filter by 'Starred' or or 'Removed from view' as in box 1 |

Missing some modules
On this page is listed all the modules you are enrolled on. Students Students are given access to Moodle modules according to your record of enrolments in the student record system. If you do not see a module that you expect to have access to there may be a number of reasons; you your first point of contact should be your School Office Student Services as they are responsible for registration and entering your details into the student record system.

- Are you looking for a module that you studied last year or previously? You will find these under the Archived modules tab'Past' tab (see point 1 above).
Note: at the beginning of term last year's modules may still be in your Current modules tab: Archiving takes place on the 7th of October every year.
- Your module may not yet be visible to you, particularly at the beginning of term - it may still be under preparation and your module convenor or lecturer has not yet made it available to students. Once the term has started please check with them when they are going to make it available.
- You may be required to self-enrol on the module, especially if it's not a taught module, it's a Nottingham Advantage Award module or an overarching School module for information or a place to submit all your assessments. To find these modules go to the 'Hamburger menu' Image Removedin the top right-hand corner. Select Site home My Modules Tab on the menu bar. Select Search and enter the module code in the "Search modules" text box.

- You may have selected your module but your school has not added it onto your student record (or has only just added it). It takes one working day for 24 hours for modules added in your student record to become available in Moodle. Please leave it a day and then if you if you still do not see a module that you know you are signed up for check with your school the student services team that they have updated your record.
