Navigating around Moodle
The first page is My Home. Your Module Overview is split between the Current Modules tab for 13-14 the current academic year and ongoing modules, and Previous Modules tab for 12-13 and earlier modulesprevious years' modules that you have studied.
TOP TIP! We recommend using the My Home page for accessing your modules: it’s easy to return to (use any of the My Home links, see screenshot below).
...
Some modules allow you to self-enrol – so you can look before you decide. You may not see all of the modules you expect to see immediately – please do not panic. Lecturers will make modules visible to you when they have finished preparing the module. Check with friends on the same course.

The module page
Each module has its own area. All resources and activities for your module are linked from the centre column. Assignments may be submitted online via Turnitin. The left and right columns contain blocks, which contain other useful information such as links to timetable & reading lists, RSS feeds, Library and Studying Effectively resources (the exact number and combination of blocks varies by module). An example is the Upcoming events block which links to the calendar. You can export calendar information and subscribe (and synchronise with other devices) via iCAL. Note that the Moodle calendar may not include all your timetable information - don't forget to check!

Below the calendar are options to export the calendar or get the calendar URL. More details are available in Syncing your calendar with Moodle Calendar

Read emails!
Moodle sends out emails to your University address only and this cannot be changed. By default emails from Moodle arrive once daily with all messages (including important Announcements) from all your modules compiled into a digest with the subject: Moodle.Nottingham Forum Digest.
...
Announcements can also be read in the Latest News block in your module. If you prefer, you can change your profile settings to receive a separate email every time Moodle sends you one (see the Help website for how to do this).
